“My photography is shaped by adventure—exploring Australia’s vast deserts, rugged mountains, pristine forests, and endless coastlines in search of the wildlife that thrives in these untamed landscapes.”

About

My name is Tim Hughes, and I’ve always felt most at home outdoors. Over the years, I’ve travelled across Australia, camera in hand, seeking out moments of connection with wildlife and wild places. Photography is more than just a creative outlet for me—it’s a way to share the beauty and importance of nature, and to inspire others to care about its future. Whether it’s the vast coastline, dense forests, or the smallest details of life in the bush, I aim to share the beauty of nature and highlight the importance of conserving it.

Why I photograph wildlife

“I feel most alive when immersed in nature. Australia’s wild landscapes inspire me every day, and through photography, I can explore these places, witness the wildlife that thrives there, and share their stories with others.”

“I see photography as a way to connect people to nature and inspire appreciation for wildlife and their habitats. I love working with conservation groups and documenting their work and the species they protect. If you’re working on a conservation project and need photography or video, I’d be excited to help.”

“I love landscape photography because no two scenes are ever the same. I’m inspired by the constantly changing light, the shifting colours of the sky, and the endless variety of Australia’s landscapes. Being out in these wild places, far from the cities, allows me to fully immerse myself in nature and capture its beauty as it unfolds.”
